Don and Ann Metz Endowed Scholarship for Education

Don and Ann Metz donated the “Don and Ann Metz Endowed Scholarship for Education” at Louisiana Tech University for students majoring in Education.

Selection Criteria:

1. The scholarship recipient(s) must be registered and remain registered as a full-time student for the quarter he/she receives the scholarship at Louisiana Tech University.

2. Scholarship(s) will be awarded annually, with disbursement quarterly.

3. Scholarship(s) shall be awarded to a student majoring in a curriculum offered by the College of Education.

4. The scholarship recipient must maintain at least a minimum 3.0 GPA in all official college courses.

5. The scholarship shall be intended to assist the recipient(s) in paying any college education costs that would otherwise be paid to Louisiana Tech University by the student.

6. The scholarship recipient shall be chosen by the scholarship committee of the College of Education.

7. It is the intent of DONOR to have this scholarship awarded to a freshman student, and then have the scholarship continue during the student’s college career for a term of 4 years provided student maintains a 3.0 GPA. If the student drops below a 3.0 GPA, the scholarship committee may choose to continue to award the scholarship to the student provided there are extenuating circumstances which may have led the student’s drop in GPA. If the student who receives the scholarship loses the scholarship due to a drop in GPA, then the scholarship shall be awarded to another deserving student who is the same classification (i.e., freshman, sophomore, junior, senior) as the student who lost the scholarship.
