Shelby Laurents Endowed Scholarship

The purpose of the scholarship is to provide support for gifted students majoring in Electrical Engineering who might be experiencing financial hardship. The scholarship will be open to all applicants subject to the following criteria:
A. Must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student in the College of Engineering and Science.
B. Preference for a talented student majoring in Electrical Engineering.
C. Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA in all official college courses.
D. Preference for students with demonstrated financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid.
E. Preference for a student who is a Louisiana resident.

The scholarship recipients shall be chosen by the scholarship committee of the College of Engineering and Science.
The scholarship will be awarded for one academic year and the award will be disbursed quarterly to the student’s university financial account.
Recipients are eligible to be considered to receive the scholarship in future years as long as they continue to meet the criteria.
