Tom Scott, Jr. Scholarship
General Eligibility Requirements
- The scholarship recipient must be a resident of the state of Louisiana.
- The recipient must maintain a minimum cumulative and quarterly grade point average of 2.5 in all official college coursework.
- The scholarship shall be open to students of any academic classification and any declared academic major.
- Recipients may also qualify for and receive funding through the Taylor Opportunity Program for Students (TOPS).
- Students who are recipients of the Federal Pell Grant are not eligible for this scholarship.
- Scholarship funds must be applied only toward eligible educational expenses and may not result in a financial refund to the student.
Enrollment and Academic Progress Requirements
- The scholarship recipient must remain enrolled as a full-time student and complete the minimum required number of credit hours.
- The scholarship will be awarded annually with disbursement in the fall, winter, and spring quarters.
- Students at Louisiana Tech University must earn a total of 30 credit hours across the fall, winter, and spring academic quarters to remain eligible for continued support.
- Failure to maintain full-time enrollment, required hours, or the minimum GPA may result in the suspension or termination of the scholarship.
Recipient Responsibilities
- Each recipient must submit a yearly thank-you letter or note to the scholarship foundation and provide an update on academic progress and personal development.
